The UK
government insists that every vehicle be roadworthy tested on a
yearly basis. Once a year, a trip to the local MOT (Ministry of
Transport) Testing station is required to test the vehicle. The same
feeling a person gets before a school exam wells up inside you. You hand
over the keys, and the next minute the vehicle is being tested - brakes,
emissions, shocks and simple things like sealing petrol caps are put
through a test.
And, if the
vehicle passes, you end up with a valid MOT certificate which allows you
to pay your vehicle road tax and your annual insurance.
