update follows: |
The Pyrenees
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A key to any overland trip is the preparation. The better prepared,
the more relaxed and enjoyable a trip will be. With this in mind, we
are taking two weeks off to enjoy the best of France and the Pyrenees.
We depart UK shores this evening on the 11pm train through the
tunnel. Once on French soil, it will be a midnight drive South to our
first campsite near Toulous.
The Route South
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our
intention was to travel through West Africa entering into Chad and
Sudan. Unfortunately, due to the humanatarian crisis in the Darfur
region we are having to change our plans.
Our initial thoughts (always subject to change) are to travel
through West Africa and then down the West coast through Gabon, Congo,
DR Congo and Angola.

Over
the last month, Maggie (the Land Rover) has had quite a few mods
added. The latest fittings include two side lockers for storing jerry
cans and water.
