Dawn of a new day
Debbie writes...

Sunset was truly magnificent - the entire horizon over the pans turned into a warm pink glow. The evening was brilliantly clear, and the heavens above were a mass of glowing stars - boasting the milky way.

At 6am we were back on the pans to absorb the dawn of a new day. The skies slowly started to become lighter and by 6.30am there was a pink haze on the horizon. The mood was calm and peaceful (and very chilly!). By 6.45am the sun peeked out to greet us and welcome us to a new day.

Dry pans - but don't be fooled

The fine dust on the route to and from Kubu Island has to-date definitely been the worst dust we have encountered. It covered everything and penetrated everywhere - the doors now squeak (and refuse to open), the springs bounce more and the brakes grind ... grrr!

What a mess!

'Cement' like powder dust

(Note for Dad: Good thing white double-cab Isuzu bakkies don't travel this road!)
