Lekhubu Island (aka Kubu)

Lekhubu is an island surrounded by the Makgadikgadi salt pans. It is roughly 1km in length and consists of the most amazing, ghostly-looking baobab trees (note the number of pics below). This has become a major tourist attraction and hence this rustic campsite has become very expensive!  The entry to the Island, along with the camping cost us P130 (130 Pula). This was as expensive as the luxurious Drotsky Cabins

The long-drop toilets are based on an interesting system - the loo is separated into two sections, a front section for liquids and a back section for solids. The liquids are channelled to a separate location, whilst the solids are left behind to dry out (that way leaving no odours)...
