Botswana...
Martin writes... Border formalities were very easy and simple!  Quite the contrast to western & central Africa. We exited Namibia within 15minutes, which included the N$120 road tax that we did not pay on entry at Ruacana border post.  The carnet did not require stamping until we exit the 'SADEK' countries.

The Botswana border officials were very friendly and efficient - after paying our 80Pula road tax, we were on our way (can also be paid in SA Rands).

The highly recommended Drotsky's Cabin's was our rendezvous for the first couple of days. Set on the banks of the Okavango panhandle, amid lush forest vegetation - this quiet river lodge/campsite was an absolute treat! The friendly hospitality from the Drotsky family and their staff was exceptional - we were offered complementary hot drinks throughout the day, free firewood delivered to our campsite daily, superb hot shower facilities (on stilts) and wonderful conversation at the bar in the evenings. These small touches add up to a very good experience :-)
