Tsodilo Hills - Mountain of the Gods
Martin Writes...

The Shell Tourist Guide to Botswana  describes Tsodilo Hills as one of the most rewarding destinations in Botswana. The four hills, namely: Male, Female, Child and North Hill form the highest ridges within Botswana. The !Kung gave the hills the name of the 'Bracelet of God' - this name is very striking as the copper hue that enfolds the hills at sunset make the hills look like a shining bracelet.

Traditionally, it would take 3-4 hours to complete the notorious 40km 4x4 route, however a new road has been paved allowing quick access to the hills.  We attempted the 4x4 route on the return journey, but due to lack of use, the trees/bushes were encroaching on the route so we decided to abandon this option in favour of saving the sides of our vehicles.
