Another puncture...
A series of bad roads, often rutted with huge rocks ended the previous evening with a huge side-wall tear on the left front of the truck.  After a night time repair, and a huge debate on weather a ripped tube, and torn tyre will handle the heat, the day started out.  30Km later the truck ground to a halt with a flat. This time the heat, the corrugation on the road had dissolved the patch.

The repair this time required the fitting of a new tyre and the old tyre to be mounted on the roof.

Another flat...

The bees arrive... Martin's face says it all...

The truck uses a split-rim so replacing the tube and fitting a new tyre is a relatively easy process except for the size.  We changed and fitted a new tyre in under an hour. Then the bees came...

Under the hot West African sun, water is scarce and for insects like bees, the ability to collect water, when available is crucial. The tyre had chosen to go flat right next to a hive. As soon as the bees senses our sweat, and water from the jerry cans, they came in their thousands.  Between us we collected 15 stings...
