The day started by saying a
sad farewell to Steve & Michele. After spending the first six weeks of our
trip together we felt totally lost without them as they headed to Senegal
and onto The Gambia. Bon Voyage guys and see you either in Ghana or SA! Every village, however remote, always has a well of some sort. We came upon this well after following a very small piste heading from Mbout (Mau). It appeared that each shepherd got allocated a 'watering' slot and in turn they would hitch up a set of donkeys, or camels and begin hauling the 40litre canvas bucket up from the 30m well. |

With each canvas bucket of water, the animals (5 cows at a time) would
drink all the water before the shepherds could refill the dip.
