Usambara Views
Debbie writes... known as 'Africa's Switzerland' the Usambara Mountains are truly spectacular! The range of mountains are rugged and surrounded by sheer cliffs. We had read from 'Duks Journey' of Irente Farm - run by Germans offering camping and a farmhouse which sells fresh home-made German bread, cheese, juice, muesli and the like. This sold it to us! It took us an hour to reach, but the climb up the mountain pass was quite magnificent.

Once parked up, Thomas a friendly student, offered to take us on a guided walk through the mountains. Good training for our upcoming treks up Mt Kenya & Kili (we thought) - but it soon proved just how unfit we were! Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed stretching our legs and breathing the fresh mountain air.
