26 December 2004
A frosty start on the morning of the 26th meant that Christmas day was officially over and the New Year was approaching very quickly.

Chris and Cindy, whom we are staying with before our departure date, hosted a family feast and kept us entertained with the latest Shrek movie.

The question over this festive period that Debbie and I seem to be asked a lot is 'What about security?'

Security must always be a concern - but not to the point that you never leave home.  The Landy has a number of external padlocks and each cupboard has a lock fitted as well.  Should someone have a huge bolt cutter, they would easily break in, but hopefully the vehicle would be parked in a secure environment and thus the perpetrator would be a little more reluctant to attempt anything.

Personal security is another issue.  We think that security will be an issue in the major cities but in the remote areas we trust that people will be more interested in talking to us than robbing us! Should we not be able to find a campsite, our policy will be to approach the village elder and request his permission to camp in his village.
