Elsamere - the home of 'Born Free' George and Joy Adamson
Martin writes... On the shores of Lake Naivasha, amidst the new flower growing boom, is the home of the late George & Joy Adamson.  Today, this home has become the foundation for the 'Born Free' conservation fund and focuses on lake ecology and environmental awareness programs.

Elsamere provides a very good insight into the life that the Adamson's lived and also boasts many outstanding original paintings by Joy Adamson. Joy was a highly acclaimed painter and received many awards in recognition of her work.

Our evening was spent at the nearby popular Fisherman's Camp on Lake Naivasha. It is a huge campsite and often busy on weekends - thankfully we were the only campers for the night.  Very peaceful and tranquil ... listening to the numerous birdlife.
