Martin writes... Nairobi's Langata suburb plays host to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe Centre. The centre - providing education to Kenyan school children, and local and international visitors - allows close contact with the worlds tallest animals. Food pellets were on-hand so that we could feed the giraffes. Our first encounter was with a young male - the only way he could get the pellets off your hand was to take your whole hand in his mouth. The adult Giraffe's had a better method - quick flick of their tongue and the pellets where whipped from your hand into their mouths. |

Daniel, one of the guides,
kindly showed us around the centre and then asked Debbie if she had ever
been kissed by a giraffe. "No, never!". He
then showed her the trick ... and soon Debbie was being 'snogged' by a Giraffe.
I don't want to spoil your fun... watch the video for all the action
: Video Page
Whilst we were visiting hundreds of school kids were ushered through the centre - they get a chance to touch a giraffe, and to watch a video about Kenyan wildlife.
